FLEX FLASH APRIL 2008
 
Hello FLEX Fans!
   We were hoping to tell you "We are incorporated, now we are a standing committee with the Vancouver Youth Theatre and we have more ways to serve you!"  But we are still waiting. We filed the application at the end of January and should hear back from the State in April.
   For our future projects and to continue to grow, we will make more and new options available to our fans.
   We mentioned before that we would be able to offer those of you who are  interested a membership. Here are your options:

Short explanation: The first three introduction seminars have been free of charge, but as of April, 2008, the seminars will
no longer be. With hand out material and a guest speaker, expenses have increased for FLEX. We will need to charge $5
per family in an effort to compensate for this.
 
 boxtops4education This could be a future project for all of us. We would need to get a program started that has at least 15 or more students participating in it, for example the Homeschool Band.  They would have to be K-8th grade. Once that is in place we can start collecting box tops. All the money would support 100% of our educational programs.

This month we would like to tell you more about ACE:
   Autodidact Community Enthusiasts (ACE) is an unschooler friendly co-op of all ages that meets every Friday at the Camas Community Center. ACE promotes a free and fun atmosphere and support through their members providing online discussions and weekly meetings. The group is at its essence free.  Free from exclusion (all are welcome), free from cost (utilizing a free public place), free from obligation (participation is strictly voluntary), and free from religious affiliation.
   The meetings have a theme of the week for each week of the month, including a county of the month, a book discussion, crafts, science experiments, chess and games. ACE also hosts events for the greater community such as musical presentations and a community talent show.

Review:
Seminar            --      Do to a lack of interest we had to cancel our guest speaker, but
                                 we hosted our general seminar about "Testing".
Deutschgruppe  --      Auch hier hatten wir nur zwei Damen, dennoch wurde es ein sehr
                                 netter Abend und Ende April wird unser nächstes Treffen
                                 stattfinden.

                                 (Here too we only had two ladies attending, but we had a very nice evening and the next meeting will be
                                 at the end of April.)

This and That   --      We have been able to add more people to our FLEX Fan list ...
                                More than 20 families have signed up for the upcoming picnic ...
                                We are still waiting on our non-profit status, but things are being
                                processed... More contacts to local businesses have been
                                established ...
                                New projects have been started ...
FLEX meeting  --       We talked about the things that happened over the first three
                                month of this year and evaluated our future projects. (Meeting:
